Mariana Paquin

Independent filmmaker and content creator: reportages, documentaries, ethnographic films and new medias

In December 2019, I have graduated with a Master in Visual Anthropology, Media and Documentary Practice from the University of Münster in Germany. My work and research explore ethical questions and societal realities through the creation of thematic ethnographic art documentaries for which I like to use a very sensorial approach. I have developed this craft from experience I acquired in my previous postgraduate studies, a Master in contemporary art in Annecy. Whether I challenge discrimination against freedom of expression or question the oppression of human rights in the name of cultural practices, I am interested in questioning our ethical principles and the societies more by working on the field in a very collaborative way to mediate a human experience. My goal for my documentaries/films is to bridge the gap to our dysfunctional society and depicts to the audience the inevitable perspective of human behavior.
